Please fix this app!!!

Endless loop of map updates and download prompts We certainly don’t like paying so much money for an app that doesn’t even workmen after we downloaded the base map!

Crashes on iPhone 6s

Very disappointed. Used to work on my iPhone 5s but crashes on my iPhone 6s. Contacted customer support and 3 days later got a reply saying we know and “hope” to fix in a release sometime. NOT GOOD for such an expensive app, especially with all the in app purchases.

No Chinese interface or translation

This software is good, but why does this product not have Chinese translation or interface? Tomtom have this in their products, why cant you do that? I regret a little for buying you products.

Works OK but getting VERY Dated

I have been using Garmin products for close to 2 decades starting first in aviation so when the automotive marketplace came around I naturally gravitated to a name I knew. Ive owned many in-car units all the way back to the original StreetPilot and subsequent Nuvis and Zumos (for motorcycle products) so when the iPhone App came along I thought Id give it a try and it wasnt bad when first released in comparison to the handheld units available then....over 4 years ago!!! Well the hand held units have continued to improve and this app is stuck in the last decade!!! Why not make a version optomized for iPad?? Why not allow importing of POIs or GPX files?? Cmon Garmin get you act together.......this could be the single most profitable product you sell with almost no product costs, no need to worry about managing a supply chain, no returns, equipment warranties, "B" goods or anything else other than the pure profit associated with an App.....why not continue to improve, sell upgrades and allow the functionality that is only limited by your willingness to make the necessary improvements that the hardware technology can certainly support in this day and age........WAKE UP!!!!!

Wont even run

Useless. Didnt work when I tried it a few months back. Thought Id try again and its in and endless loop trying to load maps, restart required. Worst money I ever spent on an app. Garmin should be ashamed.

Best GPS

I love this GPS app Garmin on my phone the best thing ever I have it everywhere I go Thank you Garmin :)

CarPlay

Its an OK app it would be nice if it worked with CarPlay

Great, but problems are not being fixed

Two phone calls. Allowed adequate time for fix or response. So here is 1 star. If you plan a route from Las Cruces, NM to El Paso, TX, the app crashes every time. I paid a lot for the app and it is not being fixed. When problems are fixed , Ill be glad to give it 5 stars again.

Junk Junk!!!!

Please dont purchase this. Garmin should be ashamed of themselves for putting such a ceappy product. Goes into a loop. Guys we should consider class action lawsuit. We paid for this. It does not work.

Crashes every time it tries to calculate a route

Purchased this and many of the extras, but when I enter several cities like Kansas City, MO or my home address in IA (currently in MS) it just crashes when it is calculating the route. I can enter some cities, like Omaha, and no problem but others and it crashes. I have the latest maps installed, etc.

Buy Magellan

Will not load the application, will not load the maps, and support does not call you back.

Works just fine for me!

I travel weekly and havent had any issues. Works great and gets me where I need to go!

Love the familiar GARMIN interface! No problems.

Ive tried multiple GPS apps -- varying from data-dependent, to offline-friendly; from free, to purchaseable -- and, I admit: I hesitated to spend $50 for one app... espcially one with so much criticism in the reviews!... However, I have been a fan of Garmin standalone GPS units for years. I am confortable and familiar with them. I even tried Magellan once, but quickly gave up. I sold it -- a much newer model -- in order to keep the user-friendly Garmin I had. However, my standalone was quickly becoming outdated; moreover, as I was bringing an iPhone into my car for every trip, (a data-free, old iPhone 4), it seemed unnecessary to have to take two devices back and forth -- the GPS stanadalone-unit, and the phone. Moreover, when pricing the cost of an updated standalone replacement, $50 for the iPhone app became more reasonable -- vs. $70 to $150, for a newer model, standalone version. So, thus far, there were still some hesitations; to address these, I contacted Garmin support -- before buying the app -- to ensure that the features I had grown to love on the standalone units, would also be available on the app. I will specify: (1) on standalone Garmin GPS units, I relish the ability to quickly switch between "3D" navigation mode, into "2D North-Up" viewpoint, simply by tapping the screen, anywhere on the map. Would this feature be similarly available -- being only "one-tap away"... on the iOS app? (2) on standalone GPS units, the turn-by-turn directions are always one-tap away, by merely touching a green bar at the top of the screen. Is this feature also on the iOS app? (3) once inside that same list of turn-by-turn directions [#2, above], there is a very useful feature -- called "show map" (or some similar title -- I forget) -- which, once tapped, gives a birds-eye, "2D-north-up" viewpoint of the *entire route*... along with two important pieces of data: (a) time remaining to destination, and (b) distance remaining. In short, from any point on the main navigation-map, I was 2 clicks away from seeing a birds eye overview of the entire route, with all the most necessary information at my fingertips. I always like to know where I am, oriented in a "north-up" position. I cannot understand those who drive in "3D mode" all the time, not knowing and understanding the future turns. I grew up on *paper* maps, before GPS units were popular. I still find the need, therefore, to "know where I am," in the "big scheme" of things -- birds-eye perspective, "north-up" orientation. And, Garmin makes it incrediably easy, useful, and user-friendly, to access just that: Although the iOS app has a *few* differences than my older Garmin Nuvi standalone unit... all-in-all, the very same features were still present -- if not improved, in the iOS app. I admit, I am slightly disappointed, on the other hand, to no longer be only "one tap" away from switching into 2D mode, while in 3D mode; however, it is not at all hard to get into 2D -- there are at least least ways of doing so, (that I know of, so far). Even on the main navigation-map, (1 of the 3 options), instead of a simple tap -- as on older standalone units -- there is, now, a "drag-tap," and click on a vertical-oriented triangle in the upper-left corner, and ... voila!... north-up, 2D orientation! The other methods are easy and simple -- even though one or two taps away from the main navigation-screen. In response to my above, numerized concerns: (1) The transition from 3D to 2D -- by tapping on the main navigation-map -- has just been described, above. (2) tapping the green menu bar at the top -- on iOS app -- is exactly the same as on a standalone GPS: just as convenient; just as practical; just as useful; no problems, here. (3) similarly, while on the turn-by-turn screen [of #2], the iOS app -- just like the standalone GPS units -- has a "route overview" viewpoint, with the same desireable data given, as had been done on standalone units. All-in-all, I cant understand why people have given so many bad ratings for the app. Many newer features that Ive seen, (for example), in CoPilot, or in Navmii, (and even in Navigon)... are not sufficiently worthwhile, such as to outweight the benefits of having the familiar Garmin interface, that Ive grown to love using, over the years. (Most of) the buttons are big -- the lack of which can be rather dangerous, when using a small (iPhone 4) screen, on the road... in contrast of many other apps, which seem to require a magnifying glass, and skillful finger-precision... in order to tap some of the most *essential* features, which are thus accessed... only with great difficulty. Good job, Garmin. Thanks for making your familiar, successful interface... available on iOS.

Garbage! Save your money.

Spend $50 on an app and it doesnt work? The app usually doesnt even open! When it does it always tells you to restart then wont open again. I am so disappointed that Garmin put their name on such a waste of time and money!

When everything fails...

This is my go-to gps app. Very stable, reliable, and accurate (proven and tested) - from San Diego, L.A., to Yosemite. I got at least six other (expensively waste of money) gps apps, but I find the Garmin app very reliable.

iPad & iPhone 6 Support...

I was waiting for iPad support for a very long time. Also the app has not been updated for iPhone 6, and now the iPhone 6S is also out for a while. Feels like you paid over $90 with add ons, which dont look good on the newer iPhones

Just okay

After recently switching to Waze, it just blows Garmin, TomTom, and every other paid or free navigation app away. I don’t plan to use my Garmin app anymore. The only advantage I can see of Garmin is the offline maps stored on your phone. But honestly, there is cellular coverage pretty much everywhere these days. Even in many remote areas. So I’ll keep Garmin as a back-up if I encounter such a situation, but otherwise don’t plan on using this app any longer. Waze has incredibly good and accurate traffic with automatic re-routing - and other apps (including Garmin) just can’t compete with crowdsourced traffic info. And yes, I have the Garmin “upgrade” for traffic. And in my experience using it, it was often unreliable and/or dated traffic info.

Good App made bad

A recent update makes this worthless. When I opened it up I received a message to download new maps. I downloaded the required files (2). Then got a message to restart app. Did that. Open up and get same message to download required maps. They are checked off as downloaded. App goes no further. Have removed and reinstalled twice with same results. Save your money Google Maps is FREE!! And it works!!!

App fails to update

The app no longer works on my iPhone. says new update download required and to re-launch the app to begin the process. Re-launch fails to start download -- just the same failure sequence. I wasted my money.

APP Routing Fail

Been using this APP for 2 years. The Routing/Multi-Stop feature fails repeatedly each day then reroutes driver to first stop. Our company loses $30-35 in lost time and fuel per delivery day due to the software glitch. Garmin Tech Support says theyve been aware of the issue for 7-8 months and have no idea when it will be fixed.
